Summer 2009 seminar and trips

Postby nancyray on Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:39 am

I really enjoyed the Atlanta trip to the National Archives. I learned so much about researching original documents and how to acquire copies of them. The visit to the MLK museum was very interesting, and I was surprised it was now a National Park.

The Gilder Lehman institute was full of interesting facts about history. We learned so much technology and how to incorporate it into our classroom. I have already started on my web page.

I really enjoyed the program Teacher Created Materials provided. Ryan O'Donnell was terrific and I would very much like to make better use of technology in the classroom.

I really enjoyed both of the summer institutes we participated in this summer. The Atlanta trip was great! Donzaleigh Abernathy was so inspiring, and I learned so much from her story and experiences. The Teacher Created Materials rep. Ryan O'Donnell was fabulous. The materials and training that we received were wonderful. This presentation really motivated me to try some new and exciting things with my students.

I also loved the trip to Atlanta. Donzaleigh Abernathy was heart warming, and her pictures and stories gave wondeful insight into what it must have been like to live during the Civil Rights Movement. They almost made you feel like you were there. Teacher created materials was also wonderful. I thouroghly enjoyed Mr. O'Donnell's presentations and teaching strategies. I am using some of them now, and plan to use many more in my classroom.
