Both were revolutions. The fighting was obviously a revolt against the British Empire as the Constitution was a revolt against both the previous form of government under the British rule and the lack of power with the Articles of Confederation that resulted in “the inadequacies of the requisitions system; the threat of social anarchy; the embarrassment of unpaid foreign debts; the violations of treaties, by foreign nations and even by some of the states; and the havoc produced by paper money” (66-67).
